Payroll Analyst

We are recruiting an experienced Payroll Analyst to manage and support end-to-end payroll operations. Key Responsibilities • Review payroll inputs and ensure accuracy. • Prepare documentation relating to tax deductions, benefits and garnishments. • Analyse compensation data including wages and bonuses. • Oversee payroll transactions and payment files. • Conduct payroll audits. • Manage payroll calendars and monthly salary processing. • Report payroll issues and changes to management. • Respond professionally to employee payroll and tax queries. • Maintain current knowledge of payroll legislation and Sage updates. • Manage end-to-end South African payroll processes. • Ensure payroll information is accurate and salaries are paid on time. • Maintain compliance with tax processes, IRP5 requirements and related payroll obligations. • Coordinate with external payroll providers where required. • Process independent-contractor payments. • Support HR benefits administration. Minimum Qualifications & Experience • Grade 12 or equivalent. • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, Payroll or equivalent. • 4–5 years' HR and/or payroll experience. • Experience managing a large payroll of 500+ employees. • Experience managing multiple company rules in Sage 300. • Sage 300 Payroll training and practical experience is essential. • International payroll/HR exposure advantageous. • Knowledge of South African labour law. • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel capability. Technical Knowledge • EMP201 submissions and tax directives. • Sage 300 People reporting. • UIF declarations. • Garnishee-order configuration. • Payroll tax setup and South African payroll legislation. • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
