Data Engineer Division: Business Support Division (Central Office) Reports to: Data Scientist This opportunity is within Business Support Division (Central Office) Reports to: Data Scientist. The role focuses on software development, systems administration, technical support and technology operations. Key responsibilities: - Ensure adherence to data standards, principles, preferences & practices. Short term deployment must align to strategic long-term delivery. - Develop algorithms and manage data warehouse processes, visualisation and reporting using application lifecycle management (ALM) tools - Develop data management reports for various business stakeholders in order for them to complete required analyses and make busine ss - Develop standards and processes for database management aligned to legislation, gaming regulation requirements and security protocols - Ensure own competence to meet changing technology and database architecture requirements remains relevant, and receive necessary - Ensure a complete understanding of information flow and system architecture and how it relates to underlying data structures - Analyse and diagnose issues and challenges and offer a solution in line with technical knowledge Mandatory requirements: - Ensure adherence to data standards, principles, preferences & practices. Short term deployment must align to strategic long-term delivery. - Develop data management reports for various business stakeholders in order for them to complete required analyses and make busine ss - Must be passionate about data and analytics - Travel to units may be required Requirements: - Collaborate with data scientists to prepare data sets for analytical modelling - Establish appropriate levels of co -ordination, communication and liaison with internal stakeholders to ensure database changes and - BSc Degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems or other technical/quantitative discipline). - Minimum 5 years of building data pipelines including at least 3 years of experience developing both multidimensional and tabular models - Experience with data migration and integration - Experience with developing enterprise data warehouse solutions, data modelling and development - Core behavioural competencies Technical / proficiency competencies - High degree of proficiency in SSIS, SQL, SSAS Cubes, DAX, MDX and building stored - Advanced knowledge and skills in Oracle databases - Verbal and written communication skills - Knowledge of Agile SDLC methodology - Ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly - Requires specialised knowledge of techniques, equipment and processes relating to Data Architecture Preferred: - Experience in DevOps an advantage - Post graduate degree is an advantage - Any certification in data modelling, data warehousing, project management will be advantageous
